The outlook of the OTERC is to develop regenerative medicine and ocular tissue engineering in a scientific approach with a direct impact on clinical medicine, understanding diseases, and providing new platforms for drug discovery in the field of ophthalmology. This perspective is achieved by logically analyzing biological, biochemical, biomechanical, and biophysical observations about the evolution and human eye diseases, and subsequently by application of proven achievements of ocular tissue engineering. The significant impact of the OTERC activities will be revealed by identifying the key ideas and combining these ideas with multi-sectoral activities and guidance obtained from ophthalmologists and patients. While pursuing these goals, the OTERC will continue its mission to develop and expand its research activities and collaborations. This center intends to take steps with the continuous effort, diligence, and cooperation of its researchers to become not only a leading and innovative reference center in the field of ocular tissue engineering research but also be recognized as a pioneer in the field of production and dissemination of new science and technologies in the region.
